Bonnechere Valley is a small municipality with plenty to offer residents in every season. The main village of Eganville is located at the junction of Highways 41 and 60, a major transportation route for trucks and vehicles traveling to and through those destinations. The municipality is known for its lake and rivers, especially the Bonnechere River, which flows directly through the village.

We are currently recruiting for an Equipment Operator-Labourer. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week and includes working overtime and unusual work hours to handle emergencies and poor weather conditions. This is a unionized position.

This role will provide a variety of construction, snow and ice removal, maintenance and repair services to roads and adjacent public property for the safety and convenience of the public. The Equipment Operator-Labourer is responsible for conducting general maintenance functions for roads and public works operations such as construction projects and paving preparation, maintaining roads in good condition for safe, hazard-free driving, building retaining walls, maintaining fences, spreading gravel and repairing and installing street signs etc.

• Mechanically included and equipment oriented
• Previous experience in the operation of tandem trucks, snowplow equipment, graders, excavators, backhoes and loaders as well as other miscellaneous equipment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated excellent safety record
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (able to lift, carry, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds)
• A valid AZ driver's licence is preferred (a DZ license will be accepted if the candidate has experience operating heavy equipment such as graders and excavators)
