General Labourer

An Ottawa Valley mechanical contractor is recruiting for a General Labourer. Our company serves a customer base throughout the area from Renfrew to Pembroke, Petawawa, Arnprior and Deep River.

This is a full-time position. Will provide on-the-job training for application related to specific tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist and support journeymen with service and installation-related tasks.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Clean and prepare job sites.
• Maintain organization in service trucks with some inventory management.
• Maintain organization and workflow with daily on-the-job tasks.
• Organize tools, equipment and materials.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
• Willingness to follow instructions and learn new skills on the job
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• High school diploma
• Current WHIMIS training
• Ontario Working at Heights training
• Valid Ontario driver's license and an incident-free abstract; to be provided by the applicant before an in-person interview
• An incident-free police criminal record check; to be provided by applicant before an in-person interview
• Punctuality and attention to detail
• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to complete tasks and follow through to completion
• Ability to work independently
• Non-smoker is preferred
• Prior experience in the mechanical field is preferred
