E.T.M. Industries Inc. (established in 1977) is a diversified manufacturing facility providing CNC-machined and plastic injection precision components and assemblies to the aircraft, space, military, automotive, mining, telecommunication and medical industries. We are strategically located in Renfrew, less than an hour from Ottawa.

E.T.M. Industries is currently recruiting for a Director of Operations. This is a full-time position.

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to lead and coordinate manufacturing operations at our production facility. The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and on-time delivery. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement and will report to the president.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage daily production schedules to meet output targets and delivery deadlines.
• Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors and production staff.
• Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and operational procedures.
• Optimize resource utilization including labour, equipment, and materials.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering teams to resolve operational issues.
• Serve as a key point of contact for customers regarding production schedules, order status, and delivery timelines, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of order-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Track and report key production metrics (efficiency, downtime, scrap rates, output).
• Manage production budgets and control operational costs.
• Support implementation of new manufacturing processes, technologies, and products.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of experience in manufacturing operations, including leadership or supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational performance.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production management software.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence certifications.
• Experience managing large teams and multi-shift operations.
