Victim Services of Renfrew County is a non-profit volunteer-based organization that assists police and other emergency services in providing emotional and practical assistance to people who have experienced crime or tragic circumstances.
We are recruiting for a Summer Student who will provide administrative support with resource updating. This is a 12-week position.
This role will also assist with the collection, organization, and distribution of donations and client resources. Occasionally, the Summer Student will also be tasked with public education support. We are currently hiring one student to work from of our Renfrew office.
Additional duties may include:
- Assist frontline staff with providing direct service support to crisis calls
- Assist frontline staff with follow-up services and support to victims to ensure their needs have been met
- Provide support to team members after emotionally difficult calls
- Assist with on-scene assistance to volunteers as deemed appropriate
- Provide general reception duties and administrative support
- Assist with the completion of the statistical requirements as directed
- Attend meetings
- Contribute to productive working relationships with referring and supporting community agencies
- Ensure the Executive Director is kept informed and updated regarding any operational issues
- Participate in the development and implementation of evaluation processes and tools as appropriate
