Wise Owl Day Care Centre is a licensed, non-profit child care centre. We provide programs for infants, toddlers, pre-school, full day before and after kindergarten, and a before and after school-age program. We are one of Renfrew County's largest childcare facilities, hosting children ranging in age from infant to school age.
Wise Owl Day Care Centre is currently recruiting a Registered Early Childhood Educator. This is a full-time position working eight-hour shifts are between 7:30am and 5:30pm.
Job Summary:
- Develop authentic relationships with children and their families.
- Create an environment for children that facilitates their learning by extending their interests and encouraging exploration, and engagement, while supporting holistic development.
- Observe and document how the learning happens in children’s play.
- Read and follow the policies and protocols annually.
- Be confident in the use of technology (messages, email, zoom, internet, Apple platform etc)
- Be aware of and engaged in professional development and current practices.
- Work outdoors a minimum of 2 hours per day except in extreme weather.
- Ensure the fulfillment of the goals and program statement of the Wise Owl Day Care Centre.

- An early childhood education diploma or degree.
- Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- A criminal record check with a vulnerable screening check.
- Qualification in First Aid and CPR.
- A current record of immunization.
- Certificate of qualification in WHIMIS, anaphylactic training, and occupational health and safety.
- Demonstrate a practical understanding of children’s development and the ability to recognize and describe the children’s learning by creating pedagogical documentation.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- A high degree of initiative and dedication.
- Ability to cultivate authentic, caring relationships and connections to create a sense of belonging among and between children, adults and the world around them.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work as a part of a team while taking a leadership role.
- An understanding of and an ability to apply the principles of the Provincial documents Early Learning for Every Child Today and How the Learning Happens.
