Roseburg Forest Products owns, sustains and responsibly harvests 600,000 acres of U.S. timberlands that yield the highest-quality building materials and specialty wood products that generate pride for the job and stand the test of time. Founded in 1936, the privately held company has built its reputation for quality, versatility and reliability with products shipped across North America that include medium density fiberboard, softwood and hardwood plywood, dimension and stud lumber, and LVL and I-Joists.

We currently have an opening for a Plant Controller. This is a full-time position.

Reporting to the Division Controller, the Plant Controller will provide financial analytics that drive business results in support of the short-term and long-term value of the assets, liabilities, and investments of the plant. This role delivers analysis as part of the finance processes, linking financial results to operational performance drivers, while providing valuable decision support analysis and driving business success. This is a senior position within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial transactions, including general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy
• Develop and implement accounting procedures and controls to maintain financial integrity
• Supervise payroll, general accounting, and accounts payable, leading a team of three
• Oversee Canadian business reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to leadership
• Collaborate with mill management to provide financial insights that drive business decisions
• Manage the preparation of annual plans and business cycle forecasts
• Adhere to and promote health and safety policies while modeling core values
• Perform additional duties as required to support business needs

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• A minimum of three years of experience in accounting
• Experience with costing models and margin analysis
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theory and practice
• Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office with the capability of advanced Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong critical thinking skills
• A self-starter with a high degree of individual initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment

Preferred:

• Wood products experience
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation
• Oracle JDE experience
• OBIEE experience
• Anaplan experience
