McGrimmon Corporation is a provider of rental apartments, townhomes and commercial properties in the Ottawa Valley. McGrimmon Corporation is also involved in the construction and hauling of aggregates. We currently manage 37 properties in the Renfrew and Cobden area.
McGrimmon Corporation is currently recruiting for an Office Assistant. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. This role is based in Renfrew.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phone calls and handling email inquiries, and greeting customers in a friendly, professional, and energetic manner
- Assisting clients and customers with their needs; delegating to other employees where needed
- Maintaining and managing files
- Entering payments into the accounting system when required
- Handling multiple administrative tasks and ensuring all responsibilities are completed by end of day, or noting any carryovers for the following day
- Assisting other employees when needed
- Eagerly performing any other duties that may arise while working in our team environment

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Comfortable in performing clerical or office work independently
- Comfortable using a multi-line telephone system, computer, fax machine, copier, and printer
- Familiarity with and use of proper and professional telephone etiquette
- A self-motivated person with an ongoing positive attitude
- Ability to handle emotional and confrontational people in a calm and professional manner while always maintaining composure
- Ability to do basic mathematics
- Ability to handle and be trusted with quantities of money
