Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living (MVACL) is looking for employees who want to share in our mission: working together to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities.

We are currently building an inventory for qualified individuals who are interested in becoming a Human Services Worker. As positions become available applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

You will work directly with and on behalf of people who have an intellectual disability, assisting them to articulate and achieve their personal outcomes. You will support people with personal growth, assist them to participate in the community and help them to enhance their quality of life.

  • Post-secondary diploma in the field of human services (i.e. developmental services worker, social service worker, early childhood education, child and youth worker or nursing) or related education and experience
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma with relevant experience in a direct support human services role is an asset
  • Valid class G licence
  • Current Emergency First Aid Level C and CPR certification
  • Current CPI certification
  • Current Criminal Reference Check or police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Medical assessment
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication

We provide service to vulnerable people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our shifts include days, evenings, overnights and weekends. Our environment is unionized and our wages are competitive.
