Since 1996, Pembroke MDF has been manufacturing a wide range of medium-density fibreboard and interior moulding products. Equipped with a parallel refining system and dual moulding lines, the Pembroke mill has an annual production capacity of 130 million square feet (3/4-inch basis). Our plant employs nearly 200 employees.

The Position
We currently have openings for Moulding Technicians. These are full-time positions.
The Moulding Technician is responsible for ensuring product quality is correct, that all equipment in the area is in proper working condition, and reports any abnormalities to operators or the manager. They are also responsible for the maintenance of the quantity and quality of product produced. Other responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting the machine's basic performance
- Making adjustments
- Ensuring that Gesso coating and sanders are producing moulding to quality specifications
- Calling for additional resources as required
- Following health and safety policies and programs
- Operating HMI and robotic packaging equipment
- Ensuring SKU machines are set up correctly
- Operating electric lift trucks and electric pallet trucks
- Setting up and maintaining Gesso coaters, sanders and ovens
- Setting up and following the standard process to mix water, calcium carbonate, and PVA glue to create Gesso
- Maintaining an inventory of ingredients and mixed Gesso
- Using a viscosity meter to check the consistency of Gesso
- Documenting and recording all steps of the creation process
- Keeping the work area clean
