Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (AOPFN) is a proud and progressive Algonquin community. Pikwakanagan is situated on the shores of Golden Lake and the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County. Located off of Highway 60, our community is 90 minutes west of Ottawa and 90 minutes hours east of Algonquin Park.

We are currently recruiting for a Community Energy Coordinator. This position is for two years with the possibility of an extension.

The Community Energy Coordinator (CEC) will be responsible for the implementation of the items identified in the community energy plan. The CEC will:

  • develop, administer and educate unique projects related to the energy sector,
  • conduct research,
  • provide recommendations to update AOPFN community energy plan (CEP),
  • provide workshops and meetings on energy efficiency for AOPFN members,
  • explore renewable energy projects and funding opportunities and conduct operations and maintenance to AOPFN current solar infrastructure.
  • Post-secondary diploma or certification in one of the areas business, commerce, environmental science, public administration or related field; or a secondary school diploma with a minimum of two years of experience working in office environment
  • Possession of valid Class G driver’s licence and access to a dependable vehicle
