Summer Students - Horton

The Township of Horton invites applications for the position of summer student Public Works General Labourer. There are two positions available working 40 hours per week. Positions will be 16 weeks in length, running from May through August.

The Public Works General Labourers will assist the public works department with a variety of duties, including road construction and repair, recreation maintenance, grass cutting and horticulture duties, surveying, and completing of conditions surveys.

• Must have a valid G2 driver’s license (minimum).
• Ability to perform physical work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and ratepayers.
• Be a team player as well as work independently.
• Experience in construction and operating landscape maintenance equipment such as weed eaters, lawnmowers, etc. will be considered an asset.
