The Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) is a non-profit organization with the responsibility of addressing the needs of military families. We provide programs and services that serve, involve, and advocate for our military community, its members, and families, and address the unique military lifestyle challenges, resulting in an enhanced quality of life. The PMFRC envisions a community of strong, capable, resilient Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families.

We are currently recruiting for an Employment Coach-Job Developer. This is a full-time, term contract working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

This position is responsible for developing and delivering employment and employment support services. This also includes the development of business partnerships and seeking out new employment partners while actively researching potential job opportunities for the employment services’ client base. The host of employment services and programs is targeted to all CAF members and their families as well as the public in general with two offices in both Petawawa and Deep River through the partnership agreement with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.

This position will work out of the Petawawa and Deep River offices, on a regular rotational basis. They are also responsible for ensuring that the program activity services align with the PMFRC strategic plan.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, human resources, employment counselling or a related field, or
  • College diploma in social services, human resources, employment counselling or a related field, or
  • A demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience

Experience:

  • Client assessment and case management
  • All facets of job search and career development
  • Ability to analyze training and development needs
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations
  • Comfortable measuring and analyzing service performance
  • Experience with group facilitation and training
  • Able to effectively applying the principles of the sales process to generate job leads and secure positions for clients
  • Placement experience with multi-barriered individuals is a strong asset
  • Comfortable preparing written reports, correspondence and maintaining accurate records
  • Experience networking with community resources
  • Able to work with a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working with a cross-section of the community

Additional:

  • Able to travel within the County of Renfrew.
  • English mandatory, French is an asset
  • Screening requirement: enhanced reliability, criminal record, vulnerable sector
