EIP Manufacturing is a Canadian-owned and operated machine shop in Pembroke, specializing in the design, development and manufacture of custom tooling, dies, and fixtures as well as production machining and inspection. We are recruiting for a Machinist or Machinist Apprentice. This is a full-time position.
The position of Machinist or Machinist Apprentice will be directed by the Production Manager and/or Charge Hand, and must be able and willing to perform the following:
- Be productive and proficient with all standard machine shop equipment. CNC mill, CNC lathe, surface grinder, cylindrical grinder, manual lathe, manual mill with DRO, band saw etc.
- Interpret customer and internal supplied prints and sketches
- Logically plan and monitor assigned project completion
- Create NC code for manufacturing with the aid of CAM software
- In some cases, interact with customer throughout a project to ensure that the manufacturing meets the customer’s requirements and that delivery is met
- Produce reports relative to projects
- Travel to the customer’s if required
- Interact and share ideas and work with fellow employees to ensure on time delivery and quality product
- Maintain a history CNC files produced during a project
- Interact directly with engineering as required, prior to and during design and build to assist in manufacturing capability analysis, and troubleshooting.
For Apprentices, training will be provided.
The aforementioned tasks are guidelines for the position, however the scope of the position will not be limited to the above.
