Our Renfrew site is currently accepting applications for a Lab Technician. This is a full-time position working 12-hour rotating continental shift patterns with flexibility to cover vacation shifts (days and overnights). This equates to approximately 14 working days per month. A sample two-week schedule would be:

Week 1:

• Monday-Tuesday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
• Wednesday-Thursday: Off
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 8:00am to 8:00pm

Week 2:

• Monday-Tuesday: Off
• Wednesday-Thursday: 8:00am to 8:00pm
• Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Off

Responsibilities:

• Maintain lab equipment, facilities and environment in a safe and clean condition.
• Perform calibration and setup of lab test equipment.
• Clean and prepare test plates and other equipment.
• Collect, identify, prepare and test tape samples per procedures and sampling plans.
• Record and maintain test results.
• Review test data to detect out-of-specification or suspect material.
• Identify non-conforming materials and complete process.
• Identify, prepare, and test incoming material samples.
• Identify and inspect finished products.
• Prepare test reports and certificates of analysis.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize process and/or product measurements and trends.
• Perform process and product audits to support automotive quality system standards.
• Support quality team needs and other team members.
• Work independently with minimum supervision and prioritize required tasks.
• Interact with other departments such as production, shipping, warehousing, research and development and engineering.
• Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.

• A minimum of grade 12 education; further related education is preferred.
• Experience in a lab or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Good analytical and mathematical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Keen observation skills and detail oriented.
• Able to work under minimum supervision.
• Able and willing to work 12-hour, rotating shifts, days and nights.
