The St. Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH) is a 20-bed, fully accredited facility located 1.5 hours west of Ottawa, serving a catchment area of over 10,000.  SFMH provides medical and complex continuing care as well as extensive ambulatory care with over 12,000 emergency and clinic visits per year.

We are recruiting for Registered Nurses. These are permanent, part-time positions with our medical unit and emergency departments.

Duties will include:

  • Demonstrating leadership by providing and promoting the best care
  • Contributing to and participating in the continuous quality improvement program
  • Being a resource person and mentor for all team members
  • Showing a commitment to ensuring a cohesive and respectful team environment
  • Be responsible for float ER shifts as required and help as needed in that department
  • Complete CTAS training internally when offered
  • Know and meet the professional standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Be responsible for ensuring conduct meets the requirements and standards of the profession and hospital
  • Assuming responsibility for professional development by participating in the College of Nurses of Ontario’s quality assurance program.
Qualifications
  • Current registration and a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current ACLS certification
  • 12 lead ECG interpretation and coronary care
  • Current BCLS certification
  • Delegated Controlled Acts certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is an asset
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Experience in and knowledge of current medical therapies, palliative care and geriatric nursing
  • Effective communication with patients, their families and all care providers
  • Ability to perform duties and meet the physical demands of the work area
  • Compliance with SFMH vaccination policy
  • A recent satisfactory voluntary sector check
