Valley Manor Long Term Care is currently recruiting for a Restorative Care Coordinator. This is a temporary, full-time position, that includes alternating weekends, for a maternity leave.

The Restorative Care Coordinator will report to the director of care and will work closely with the staff to coordinate restorative care programs with other departments. This role involves collaboration with the occupational therapy staff and vendors.

• Current certification as a registered practical nurse with a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Vulnerable sector check valid within the last 6 months or willing to obtain one
• Post RPN education and experience in gerontology or related field is preferred
• A high interest in the restorative care philosophy. 
• Ability to motivate residents and staff and leadership skills are assets
• Ability to assist with lifts and transfers, bed mobility, and any other tasks involved with the restorative care program
• Exceptional knowledge about proper body mechanics to protect self and others during the course of the work duties
• Organized and have the ability to multi-task in a high stress position which requires exceptional coping and organizational skills
• Computer literacy
• Interviewing skills
