We are currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment-Snowplow Operator. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week which may include evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.

Reporting to the Public Works Superintendent, the Heavy Equipment-Snowplow Operator is primarily responsible for road maintenance operations within the township. This position also performs additional related duties including labourer functions (i.e. patching roads, shoveling, sweeping, flagging, shop cleaning) and other physical activities.

• Experience in operating a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tandem plow, light duty trucks, grader, loader, backhoe, tractor and other maintenance equipment
• Able to maintain appropriate licenses required for driving and operating heavy equipment and tandem trucks (i.e. Class DZ license minimum, AZ licence preferred) and provide a clean driver’s abstract
• Experience in road construction is an asset
• Excellent verbal and communication skills, with adherence to confidentiality
• Able to perform well in a team environment
• A positive attitude
• Able to follow all applicable health and safety regulations and guidelines
• Willing to report to the assigned municipal garage on short notice and in a timely manner

Pension and benefits are provided after a three-month probationary period.
