With our child well-being law, Nigig Nibi Ki-win, now fully in force, the community embraces a step in reconciliation by reclaiming jurisdiction over the safety and well-being of our children, youth and families.
We are recruiting for a Client Care Manager. This is a full-time position.
Summary of the Position
The Client Care Manager will oversee the client care team that works largely 1-on-1 with children, youth and their families who have been referred, or are self-referred, to engage in prevention services.
The Client Care Managerwill oversee the budget, meet all reporting requirements, assign caseloads to employees, assist employees in managing their time and resources, and research training opportunities to foster growth and development in the team. They will lead by formulating wrap-around care plans, actively participate in the department and assist in the development of service delivery systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, training and direction to staff
- Works with other department managers on training processes
- Supports effective plans of care
- Ensures client case files are well managed, maintained and updated regularly
- Participates in community development projects and committees
- Identifies, assesses, and prioritizes family and child prevention goals
- Initiates and coordinates new prevention strategies and initiatives
- Completes all administrative reporting requirements
- Participates in cultural awareness training
- Responds to emergencies outside of regular working hours
- Follows up to ensure any issues have been fully resolved and necessary preventative measures have been implemented
- Participates in a comprehensive risk management plan for all preventative services
- Ensures the protection and privacy of all prevention services information and records
- Manages the performance of staff

- A bachelor’s degree in social work (minimum); a master’s degree in social work is preferred
- A minimum of 5-8 years of direct experience working with youth and families in a social service or in another related health setting
- Two or more years of management experience
- Experience working with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis (FNIM) people in a community-based setting is an asset
- Expertise in mental health, mental illness and addictions, with a willingness to participate in additional training
- Able to work a flexible schedule which may include flexed days and on-call
- A minimum of a valid class G driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle
- A clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
- An understanding of intergenerational violence and trauma in Indigenous communities
- A firm grasp on Algonquin Anishinàbeg culture, social structure and traditional approaches to helping and healing
- Comprehensive knowledge of social service resources within the Renfrew County region and the ability to make referrals, guide and advocate on behalf of clients
- Certification in CPR and First Aid, and non-violent crisis intervention training or willingness to obtain
- Experience with data software programs, preferably Microsoft 365 Suite
