We are currently recruiting for a Payables Officer. This is a full-time position.

The lumber manufacturing Payables Officer works in close partnership with senior management to manage a broad range of administrative duties and office operations. The Payables Officer helps to ensure the accurate and effective processing of accounts payable to our wood suppliers and to ensure consistent and accurate record-keeping. The person in this role will be required to accurately maintain records using various software programs including Sage Accounting and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and assist in the analysis of operations.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the umber manufacturing Payables Officer will be a key component of the implementation of procedures and systems to ensure effective operations. You will execute the following duties:

  • All administrative workflow associated with the organization’s inventory flow
  • Process and manage customer payments.
  • Timely and accurate submission of electronic data transfer to government agencies
Qualifications

The successful candidate will prefer to work independently with minimal supervision and have a strong work ethic. The position requires an individual with superior organizational and interpersonal skills as well as emotional intelligence.

Additional skills required for this position include:

  • Three years of experience in computerized accounting or a similar position.  
  • Superior organization skills
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage several different responsibilities at one time
  • Excellent written communication skills; strong editing skills are an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • An independent worker with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the forest industry is appreciated as an asset
