We are currently recruiting for Registered Practical Nurses. There are permanent, part-time positions available.

In addition to providing nursing care to residents, our Registered Practical Nurses have these responsibilities:

• Direct and lead the team of personal support workers to ensure the delivery of quality care
• Perform routine nursing procedures such as distributing medication to residents, taking blood pressure, temperature and pulse, collecting blood and other specimens, preparing residents for tests and surgery and changing resident dressings
• Assisting registered nurses as required
• Monitors resident progress and reports changes in resident condition, conferring with other healthcare professionals as required
• A commitment to providing resident-focused care in a long-term care setting
• Complete mandatory education as assigned
• Have a desire for ongoing learning
• Attend staff meetings

• Current Registered Practical Nurse with a current (or temporary) certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Vulnerable sector check, valid within the last 6 months or can obtain one
• Post-RPN education and experience in gerontology or a related field is preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and assessment skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Current CPR certification
• Experience with RAID-MDS, Point-Click-Care and electronic MAR is very beneficial
• The ability to multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge related to the Long-Term Care Homes Act
