Carefor Health & Community Services offers home care services, community support and operates the Pembroke Civic Complex retirement residence. Carefor provides frozen meals, transportation and visiting programs as well as personal and home support, foot care programs, companion sitters and a going home program which allows for a transition from a medical stay back to the home. We operate throughout Renfrew County and are one of the region's most recognized healthcare providers.

Carefor Health & Community Services is currently recruiting for a Personal Support Worker (PSW). This is a casual position that is available immediately.


  • Carry out the duties of a Personal Support Worker
  • Provide care according to the resident care plan or individual behaviour plan
  • Assist with bathing and other personal care
  • Assist with dietary duties such as dishes, setting up the dining room, clearing tables and serving as directed
  • Provide medication assistance
  • Complete delegated tasks such as glucometer readings, weights, application of ointments
  • Complete documentation according to established practices
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Personal Support Worker certificate
  • Food safety and handling certificate
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certificate
  • Experience working with seniors and/or adults who have dementia, mental illness and developmental disabilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Crisis prevention intervention training is an asset
  • Dependable, trustworthy, compassionate with good work habits
