Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation (AoPFN)is a proud and progressive Algonquin community. Pikwakanagan is situated on the shores of Golden Lake and the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County. Located off of Highway 60, our community is 90 minutes west of Ottawa and 90 minutes hours east of Algonquin Park.

We are currently recruiting for a Community Health Nurse. This is a temporary, full-time position (one-year leave replacement).

The Community Health Nurse is responsible for delivering a comprehensive community nurse health program and for carrying out assigned duties within the standards of nursing practices established by the College of Nurses (i.e. pandemic advisor).

  • Bachelor of Science, baccalaureate in nursing and /or diploma in nursing
  • Current certificate of registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario
  • Current membership and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Two years of experience in a First Nations community or public health nursing
  • Class G driver's licence, driver's abstract, reliable vehicle and vehicle insurance
  • Vulnerable sector check
  •  Valid First Aid, CPR, AED and Health & Safety Worker certification
