The mission of Bernadette McCann House (BMH) is to work for change that will end abuse, by providing safety, support, and education to all those who experience abuse. Our services include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, court support, services for children and youth, groups, and workshops.
We are currently recruiting a Transitional Support Caseworker. This is a permanent, part-time position working four days a week, 60 hours bi-weekly, and serving the Arnprior, Renfrew, and Killaloe areas.
Reporting to the Outreach Supervisor, the Transitional Support Caseworker provides direct service to women who have experienced abuse.
Responsibilities of this position:
- Assists with housing applications, and accessing community resources
- Assists and supports women in developing and addressing their transitional plans
- Provides education and support regarding domestic violence
- Provides crisis intervention and safety planning
- Delivers client advocacy
- Provides group facilitation
