St. John Ambulance is an international humanitarian organization and is the foundation of the Order of St. John. Our mission is to enable Canadians to improve their health, safety, and quality of life by providing training and community service. We carry out our mission through community service, and first aid, and CPR training.

We are currently recruiting for a Summer Student, Social Media Coordinator. This is a full-time contract position running 9-13 weeks.

The Summer Student, Social Media Coordinator will provide social media coordination on different social media platforms.

Essential Duties:

  • Creating and managing day-to-day posts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Engaging with our online community through comments, likes, and direct messages to maintain an active and continued conversation
  • Fostering engagement to increase ad clicks and drive growth
  • Implementing strategies to increase the conversion rate of Facebook and Instagram ads
  • Attracting new customers and increasing sales, services, and new product launches directly through our social media platforms
  • Curating, scheduling, and managing a well-organized content calendar
  • Engaging with our followers, responding to shoutouts, addressing complaints, and answering questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Creating other marketing materials such as brochures, flyers etc.
  • Handling phone and email customers and providing information
  • Handling registrations for First Aid classes and product sales
  • Provide administrative support to the Branch Manager
  • Strong writing skills to create engaging and compelling social media content
  • Proven social media experience including but not limited to content creation, scheduling and engagement
  • Understanding of analytics to track and measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with our online community
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Strong computer and software abilities including MS Office: Word, Excel, and CRM
  • Experience with database software
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule multiple tasks and respond to changing priorities
